Target group:

This seminar is aimed at electric powertrain acoustic and sound quality engineers working in design, development and remediation involving the characteristic sounds, reference signals and interactions found in single and dual vehicle electric powertrains and in industrial electric drive systems.


Prerequisite:

Basic knowledge about data acquisition is an advantage. The half-day training course Introduction to ArtemiS SUITE Recorder is available on this topic.


Seminar Objectives:

This half-day course brings together in a single application-oriented class for electric powertrain sound quality and acoustics engineers all of the tools and techniques for rotating machinery data management, tachometer handling and display including offset orders plus analysis, filtering and gating capabilities and techniques.

The course is focused on the characteristics of pure-electric powertrains. It does not treat IC or hybrid IC/electric powertrains; please see the half-day course Powertrain Data Acquisition and Analysis, Internal Combustion.


Program:

  • How ArtemiS SUITE evaluates pulses and other tachometers
  • Displaying RPM or reference quantity histories, displaying pulses, displaying dials
  • Conventional, psychoacoustic and advanced analyses vs. reference quantities (5013, 5016)
  • Order-related analyses and filtering (including order-tracking and grouping)
  • Offset orders (“parallel” and “mirror”): what they are, how to analyze, filter, generate, and determine interactions between offset and direct e-drive orders: complex modulations, tonalities and other psychoacoustic effects
  • Variable filtering, rebalancing/adding/subtracting orders: legacy methods and Sound Engineering Project (5013, 5019)
  • Producing calculated composite tachometers
  • Multiple motors and references
  • RPM Signal Generator (5013, 5021) and RPM Generator (5024)
  • Resampling to the angle domain
  • Interactive design and rebalance of e-drive and other vehicular sounds (Sound Engineering Project) (5019)

Remarks:

Training material is provided in print and as pdf on a USB stick. Notebooks and front ends are available for all participants.

The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 10. In this way, we guarantee each participant an individual support.
