In this application the acoustical features of a door slamming sound is evaluated by using HEAD VISOR. The video shows a slow motion of a source map of a vehicle door being slammed two times in a row. Thus, several phenomena are shown: Directly after the first door slam a high frequency rattling can be noticed. In the slow motion (1/2 playback speed) the door handle can be definitely detected as the initiator. During the second door slam an annoying peak in the spectrum is shown at about 5 kHz. The slow motion (¼ playback speed) points out that the sound source is the post-pulse oscillation of the metal sheet below the handle.
