Triaxial accelerometer summation
 
Analyzing the NVH quality of products includes measuring the vibrations at places where the person contacts the product (for example the handle of a lawn mower).
Using a triaxial accelerometer leads to three time signals of x, y and z directions. These three channels have to be combined in the right way to read the total acceleration of each point.

Integrate Accelerometer Signals
 
Measuring acceleration is easy with accelerometer sensors. But by touching a machine we do not feel the acceleration at this spot – we feel the displacement caused by the acceleration.
So it is common to measure the acceleration signals and then calculate the displacement by integrating the signal twice.
