Controllers and Digital Input

labCTRL II.1: Second generation HEADlab controller for data concentration and synchronization with HEADlink 2.0

The powerful HEADlab controller labCTRL II.1 concentrates and synchronizes the data of the input and playback modules, supplies them with voltage and establishes the connection to the Windows PC, from which the HEADlab system can be conveniently configured and controlled. The enhanced HEADlink 2.0 data protocol offers twice the data rate of its predecessor. Thus, significantly higher sampling rates or channel numbers can be achieved.

labCTRL II.1 also offers other valuable innovations, such as native CAN FD support, as well as synchronization of multiple systems via GPS or LAN (PTP). A possibility for stand-alone recording (SAR) without a connected PC is given via the separate extension module labSAR I.0.

labDX: Digital input module with CAN FD, FlexRay, HMS and pulse interfaces

labDX is a digital module with the following inputs: 2x CAN FD (labDX from version B) /CAN/OBD-II, 1 x FlexRay, 2x pulse inputs and an interface for a HMS III- or HMS IV-generation artificial head or for connecting a GPS receiver. The configurable pulse inputs facilitate a high maximum pulse rate.

labHRT6: Digital input module for high-resolution measurement of speeds

labHRT6 is a 6-channel digital input module for the high-resolution measurement of speeds or other pulses for rotation and torsional vibration analyses. The variable configuration of the six measuring inputs facilitates recording of a wide range of signal sources. Several input channels can be bundled, allowing use for a sampling rate of up to 6.9 MHz.


Analog Modules

labM6 II: 6-channel voltage/microphone input module of the 2nd HEADlab genera­tion with HD wide-range input (High Dynamics)
 

Thanks to the support of the HEADlink 2.0 transmis­sion protocol, this input module of­fers double the sampling rate with the same number of channels compared to HEADlink 1.0. In combination with the controller of the 2nd HEADlab generation labCTRL II.1, labM6 II achieves a maximum sampling rate of 204.8 kHz per channel. Up to six condenser microphones can be connected directly to the labM6 II module.
The selectable HD wide-range input allows to measure signals with high dynamics and strongly fluctuating levels. Adjustments of the settings due to possible overmodulations or under­modulations are no longer necessary.
As a dual-mode input module, labM6 II offers support for condenser microphones as well as ICP sensors (e.g. microphones, accelerometers), which can be connected via an adapter.

labVF6 II: 6-channel voltage/ICP® input module of the 2nd HEADlab generation with switchable low-pass filters

labVF6 II is perfectly suited for small and medium channel counts and allows comfortable wiring due to the BNC connectors on the front panel. Thanks to the support of the HEADlink 2.0 trans­mission protocol, this input module of­fers double the sampling rate with the same number of channels compared to HEADlink 1.0. In combination with the controller of the 2nd HEADlab generation labCTRL II.1, labVF6 II achieves a maximum sampling rate of 204.8 kHz per channel.

 

The rugged input mod­ule provides switchable analog low-pass filters in addition to high-pass filters. It features a particularly favorable lower cutoff frequency and an input impedance of 1 MΩ.

labV12 II: 12-channel voltage/ICP® input module of the 2nd HEADlab generation for applications with larger numbers of channels

labV12 II is an input module of the 2nd HEADlab generation. Thanks to the support of the HEADlink 2.0 trans­mission protocol, the input module of­fers double the sampling rate with the same number of channels compared to HEADlink 1.0. In combination with the controller of the 2nd HEADlab generation labCTRL II.1, labV12 II achieves a maximum sampling rate of 204.8 kHz per channel. The rugged input module features a particularly favorable lower cutoff frequency and an input impedance of 1 MΩ.

labV24 II: 24-channel voltage/ICP® input module of the 2nd HEADlab generation for applications with high channel numbers

Due to its high channel density, labV24 II is optimally suited for system configurations with high channel numbers. Thanks to the support of the HEADlink 2.0 trans­mission protocol, this input module of­fers double the sampling rate with the same number of channels compared to HEADlink 1.0. In combination with the controller of the 2nd HEADlab generation labCTRL II.1, labV24 II achieves a maximum sampling rate of 204.8 kHz per channel.

The rugged input module features a particularly favorable lower cutoff frequency and an input impedance of 1 MΩ.

SCU I6: 6-channel adapter to perform current measurements with HEADlab modules and compact systems

SCU I6 is connected to the signal inputs of a HEADlab module, e.g. labV6HD, and can be used for converting measured currents (DC or AC) into corresponding voltages.

labV6HD: 6-channel line/ICP® input module with wide-range input (high dynamics)

labV6HD is a 6-channel line-/ ICP® module allowing all channels to be used either as a high-dynamic wide-range input or, as per convention, with fixed measuring ranges from 10 mV to 30 V. labV6HD features 168 dB dynamics and “0 Hz ICP-DC coupling”, facilitating ICP® measurements from 0 Hz to 45 kHz. This allows low-frequency signals to be measured. The module can be calibrated as a class 1 sound pressure level measuring device (in line with IEC 61672).

labSG6: 6-channel input module for connecting resistive measuring bridges (strain gages) and more

labSG6 is a 6-channel input module for connecting both resistive measuring bridges (strain gages) and sensors with symmetrical or unsymmetrical outputs and unipolar or bipolar supply. An auto-zero function is available for automatic bridge balancing. The voltage supply is programmable by channel.

labCF6: 6-channel charge/ICP® input module with integrated charging amplifiers

labCF6 is suitable for connecting charge and ICP® sensors, with each channel individually usable in charge or ICP® mode. In charge mode, labCF6 features charge amplifiers for charge sensors. The sampling rate is up to 96 kHz (3 channels).

labT6: 6-channel input module for connecting thermal elements of type K or RTD (PT100, PT1000)

labT6 is a 6-channel input module for connecting up to six thermal elements of types K and RTD (PT100 and PT1000). Each channel features a characteristic curve correction including cold-junction compensation (CJC). The device offers automatic thermal element breakage/cable breakage detection.

labO2 – 2-channel playback equalizer with line outputs

labO2 is a 2-channel playback equalizer with line outputs (equalizer: FF, ID, DF, USER). It allows aurally accurate playback of binaural recordings when using the loaded filters to incorporate the human auditory impression in the assessment of sounds.

labHSU – High-end dual-channel data acquisition module

labHSU is an extraordinarily flexible dual-channel data acquisition system. It can be operated as a frontend on a computer, as a module in a HEADlab system or as a stand-alone system by remote control via smartphone, tablet or the RC X remote control. labHSU offers connection facilities for artificial head measurement systems and other binaural measurement systems from HEAD acoustics as well as for condenser microphones and ICP® sensors.


Power Supply

labPWR I.1: HEADlab Power-Box for supplying power to individual modules or smaller systems up to 40 W

labPWRI.1 is a power box for supplying power to individual modules or smaller HEADlab systems up to 40 W. The battery (55 Wh) supplies connected HEADlab systems, depending on configuration, for several hours even without a power source. Uninterrupted switching between external power supply and battery operation is facilitated.

labPWR I.2: HEADlab Power-Box for supplying power to larger systems up to 100 W

The labPWR I.2 power box is used to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to HEADlab systems where the total consumption of connected modules does not exceed 100 W. Uninterrupted switching between external power supply and battery operation is facilitated.

labPWR I.3: HEADlab Power-Box for supplying labHSU, HEADlab systems up to 35 W and SQuadriga III

labPWR I.3 power box provides an uninterruptible power supply for labHSU, HEADlab systems (up to 35 W) or SQuadriga III. The integrated battery supplies HEADlab systems for several hours, even without external power supply. labPWR I.3 allows for remote power up of pre-configured measurement systems or timer controlled power on and off (with labHSU).
