Playing back binaural recordings with the highest level of accuracy requires high-quality headphones. HEAD acoustics offers various dynamic headphones for playing back sound. The headphones have optimized sound properties, a natural sound pattern and high tonal accuracy. For binaural recordings to be played back correctly, headphones and playback devices need to work with each other properly.
HEAD acoustics offers custom level calibration and equalization for each headphone, to assure the sound playback quality that is comparable to the original sound field.
In addition, the HEAD acoustics playback devices have model-specific default equalization filters for the corresponding headphone models. With the default equalization filters and an HDA IV.1/IV.2 distribution amplifier, up to four/eight headphones can be used simultaneously as a labO2/labO2-V1 playback unit.

Variants

HD IV.2 / HD IV.1
Standard headphone HD IV.2 is the follow-up model of our headphone HD IV.1 (still available) and can be used with all HEAD acoustics playback devices. It features an impressively wide frequency range and balanced, contoured bass. Thanks to its extra-lightweight aluminum drive coils, it offers extraordinary pulse fidelity.

HD VIII
The HD VIII reference headphone model offers a very open sound pattern and extremely good dynamics. It ensures outstanding impulse response and a wider frequency range extending up to 54 kHz. Due to the extraordinary time response, the headphones are suited best for transient noises. An open mesh headpiece and 3D ear pads that retain their shape make the headphones extremely comfortable to wear.
The HD VIII works best with the labP2 and labO2-V1 equalizers.
