labBGN is the key hardware component for operating HEAD acoustics background noise simulation systems. With the hardware platform and the corresponding simulation software (3PASS lab, 3PASS flex, 3PASS reverb, HAE-BGN, HAE-car), it is possible to record, equalize and realistically playback background noises as well as reverberation (impulse responses) – reproducible across different laboratories.

labBGN provides a maximum of ten channels: Thus, users are able to connect e.g. eight loudspeakers and one stereo subwoofer to the labBGN concurrently.

In conjunction with the simulation software (3PASS lab, 3PASS flex, 3PASS reverb, HAE-BGN, HAE-car), microphone arrays MSA I or MSA II (recording, equalization) as well as loudspeakers and power amplifiers, labBGN forms a powerful background noise simulation system.

Features

  • labBGN provides one D-Sub 25-pin multi-functional socket for connecting eight loudspeakers (TASCAM compatible).
  • The hardware platform has two XLR output connectors for connecting a two-channel subwoofer or additional two loudspeakers.
  • labBGN provides a 10-channel display of inputs and outputs as well as an ADAT input / output and HEADlink socket.
  • Via the digital interface (AES/EBU) users are able to exchange audio data, e.g. with the hardware platform labCORE.
  • labBGN enables monitoring of audio signals by headphones via 6.3 mm phone jack.
  • Users are able to control all settings via software of 3PASS lab, 3PASS flex, 3PASS reverb HAE-BGN, or HAE-car.
