Optimize every acoustic test ride
The Binaural Microphone Kit (BMK) enables comfortable, reproducible binaural recordings during motorcycle test rides. Installed by HEAD acoustics in the Shoei motorcycle helmet MH I.x, it captures exactly the sound riders perceive directly at the ear, avoiding the drawbacks of conventional in-ear microphone setups. Many existing solutions compromise usability, wearing comfort, and repeatability. The integrated BMK ensures consistent microphone positioning and helps test riders focus on the road while engineers receive reliable acoustic measurement data.
BMK helps overcome common challenges in motorcycle acoustic testing:
- drastically enhanced handling, making the easy-to-use system more practical for everyone involved in acoustic testing of motorcycles
- increased reproducibility through fixed microphone positioning close to the rider’s ears
- much more realistic auditory feedback provided by the helmet
Motorcycle acoustic testing made easy
Mount a mobile data acquisition system from HEAD acoustics—such as SQuadriga III or SQobold—to the motorcycle and use the BMK built into a Shoei MH I.x motorcycle helmet to capture binaural recordings directly at the rider's ears.
The setup enables realistic, hassle-free data acquisition under real-world riding conditions and helps address acoustic challenges such as rider comfort, sound quality, wind noise, and other motorcycle-related assessments.
Hear your ride as it truly is ...
... directly on-site with our unique binaural playback opportunities! You may even share your impressions with others using the binaural headset BHS II, which is automatically configured and equalized. It plays back your sound files at the scene for immediate evaluation while connected to your mobile measuring system.
