PreSense Drive is software for realistic and interactive vehicle interior noise simulation. With PreSense Drive, users experience significantly enhanced immersion in vehicle simulators, thanks to the realistic sound. It is based on the technology of the PreSense NVH Simulator and uses the same advanced algorithms, operating concepts, data sets, and integration interfaces.

While PreSense is a comprehensive package for NVH experts with different variants for every application, PreSense Drive is a quick and cost-effective way to simulate noise and sounds to suit any vehicle. It offers the highest auralization quality and binaurally calibrated playback via headphones, speakers, and shakers. Thanks to the immersive sound simulation, the driver feels and behaves just like in a real driving vehicle. This creates a realistic context for sound room design (e.g., HMI (Human Machine Interface), ASD (Active Sound Design), ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), etc.).

PreSense Drive offers simple operation and can be easily integrated into any driving simulator via an API such as CAN (bus system), gRPC (network), IPG CarMaker (software), or CarSim (software), and is also suitable for electric and hybrid electric vehicles (EV and HEV) in addition to conventional drive types.

PreSense Drive simulates these audio sources:

  • Drive train
  • Tires/road noise
  • Wind noise
  • Special events (individual noise events, such as indicators, horn, etc.)
  • External events (passing vehicles, sirens, tunnel driving, etc.)

Individual, high-quality data sets can be purchased from HEAD acoustics as a project. Calibrated and equalized playback of binaural signals is possible via headphones or via several loudspeakers and shakers (3PASS method).
