| Depending on the vehicle
and operating conditions (e.g. waiting at a traffic light),
the vehicle interior noise resulting from a windshield
wiper system may be regarded as annoying or disturbing. |
| Since identical windshield
wiper systems create completely different vehicle interior
sounds de- pending on the vehicle that they are implemented
in, the disturbing noise patterns are not only related
to the source but also to the vehicle body. |
| Thus it is obvious that
both sides (source and structure) are contributing to
the resulting interior sound. In particular, the stiffnesses
of the system attachment points are extremely important
with respect to the resulting noise. |

The methodology of BTPA/BTPS offers a close look at the interaction of sound source and transmission
behavior and is therefore ideally suited for understanding the
origin of a disturbing noise pattern and finding a suitable
solution. |
