| Rear axle noise contributions
are often increasingly recognizable for certain operating conditions,
especially in luxury vehicles that already feature a low overall
noise level. |
| The well known `howling` noise
from the rear differential is a typical disturbing and unwanted
noise pattern related to the rear axle. The howling noise often
originates from the meshing frequency of the rear axle differential
and its amplification by a structural resonance. |
| In order to improve or eliminate
this kind of disturbing noise pattern, it is essential to gain
information about the transfer behavior of all elements that
are involved. |
The methodology of BTPA/BTPS
is ideally suited in order to gain this necessary information. |
