This seminar is dedicated to users who want to approach psychoacoustic analysis from the basics, covering sound perception, sound quality techniques, and the development of predictive metrics and indices.

Seminar Objectives

The goal of the training is to enable anyone to begin using psychoacoustic analysis and, with this knowledge, to develop sounds and noise in industrial products of any kind.

Deliverables:

• The fundamentals of psychoacoustics
• Detailed description of the analyses based on the Hearing Model developed by Prof. Sottek, introduced in the ECMA standards, and representing the state of the art in the objectification of subjective perception.
• Using psychoacoustic analysis for the objectification of sound perception, sound-quality techniques, and the development of predictive metrics and indices.

To enhance the effectiveness of the training, participants will be given the opportunity to provide their own audio recordings, which can be used as a basis for further practical application of the analyses described.

Notes

The course will be held on June 4th and 5^th, 2026, in Turin.

The location, currently being finalized, will be located near the city center.

Professor Roland Sottek, a professor at Chalmers Technical University in Gothenburg and Chief Scientific Advisor of HEAD acoustics, will lead the seminar.
