HEAD acoustics has developed and implemented a Zoom Audio Database based on the Zoom Audio Certifications as a Telecom Standard for the HEAD acoustics ACQUA test system and as part of the sophisticated HEAD acoustics audio testing solution.
Zoom is an acclaimed and versatile platform for professional collaboration and communication in the office and at home. Unimpaired and crystal-clear speech quality in Zoom meetings is key to making online communication smooth and effortless.
To ensure an optimal communication experience in Zoom meetings, Zoom Video Communications Inc. provided test specifications focused on usability-oriented characteristics such as speech quality, signal-to-noise ratio, echo, and delay.
The tests implemented in the ACQUA standard Zoom Audio allow efficient, automated testing of communication devices for Zoom Meetings and Zoom Rooms, such as headsets, personal- and group speakerphones, pro-grade microphones, and installed conferencing systems according to Zoom specifications.
The instrumental tests laid out in each specification mimic close-to-life situations typical for the respective device type. They assess its functionality, communication quality, and operation robustness during communication. This is examined for sending and receiving directions and, where appropriate, in the presence of background noise typical for the respective environment. Such tests are the basis for flawless communication quality and a good user experience.
