labHSU is an extraordinarily flexible dual-channel data acquisition system in the format of the HEADlab family. It can be operated as a frontend on a computer, as a module in a HEADlab system or as a stand-alone system by remote control via smartphone, tablet or the RC X remote control. labHSU offers connection facilities for artificial head measurement systems and other binaural measurement systems from HEAD acoustics as well as for condenser microphones and ICP® sensors. It also has a pulse input. The HEADlink+ interface allows HEADlab modules to be connected and additional labHSU to be cascaded.

Measurements can be performed completely independently in conjunction with the labPWR I.3 power box. The recording equalization of binaural sensors can be performed with digital, programmable filters directly on labHSU (in stand-alone mode). This dispenses with the need for equalization during post-processing, which makes operation very easy. The dual-ADC technology enables high-end audio quality and extremely high dynamics, improves user-friendliness due to the removal of the need for any measurement range switchover and massively reduces the risk of measurement errors due to overmodulation. The labHSU headphone output offers standard equalization for various headphone types from HEAD acoustics and thus enables aurally accurate monitoring of a recording directly on the device.

The USB connections offer wide-ranging expansions for storage media and easy operation of labHSU with a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi.
